Well, we don’t know why she died. She still had her butt sowed shut from the third prolapse and was on antibiotics. Finally, she was eating normally for the last week but was still half underweight. Well, one morning she wouldn’t get up. She simply laid while looking around with big eyes and ears. She would get up to move with interest. However, she appeared not to have the energy to do so and would pause of several minutes like she became light-headed. She appeared very week but was alert. She breathed hard and quick and there was the sound of fluid in her lungs. Throughout the day her body temperature dropped and she became cool, cold to the touch. Over about seven hours she moved – crawled – about ten feet with long rests of heavy breathing inbetween. She would become tired very fast and would rest her head on her arms with a helpless, sad look in her eyes. When you looked at her, she looked at you. The eyes had the look of helplessness, of pleading, of sadness but not of pain. It was a look I never saw before and one I would rather not see again. It was hurtful to see, but at the same time, I must say I felf relieved. Relieved that it was finally comming to an end. Upon that realization, I felf connected to her because it seemed she felt the same, that the end was here. She finally relocated to a remote, unused corner. That is where she choose to lay down and die.
She has been cremated and we have her ashes.
