Georgia just banned female genital mutilation and piercing, a crime punishable up to 20 years in prison.
“The original intent of the amendment was to make illegal the voluntary piercing of female genitalia for decorative purposes,” said Rep. Bill Heath (R-Bremen).”
These same lawmakers also believe you should only fornicate with the opposite sex missionary style. Ridiculous. Lawmakers should not be determining for us what is moral and immoral. They have no right extending laws into our bedrooms and pants.
Removing sexual organs on woman (or men) for non-medical reasons is a different story and is a place for lawmakers to debate.
**UPDATE**
I would like to add that my rant was a little biased. This law was created because a year earlier a father removed the clitoris of his young daughter (four years old I believe) because of his homeland customs. There was no existing law to properly charge the father with. So, lawmakers created one that bans female genital mutilations. Well, this unknowingly bans female genital piercing. When lawmakers were asked about female genital piercing they would often state that they have never heard of such a thing and could not believe that people would do such a thing.
These lawmakers represent the public? A little out of touch don’t you think?
