it is hard for me to get any work done with these kittens! right now i am sitting outside in the “backyard” (quoted because there is no yard. it is just course sand) with the two kittens — cosmo and nee chi. cosmo is the pretty white poofy one who also happens to be an airhead.. very cute though anyway, i am keeping score with their cockroach killings. the sit next to me watch the area for movement. the cockroaches and crickets come out after dark from their hiding spots on the otherside of the yard barrier. the yard has cement blocks as a wall. on top of that is a metal barred fence. on the otherside are fist-sized rocks then grass. the roaches must sleep in the rocks near the grass. that is their source of water. then they wake up looking for food. but this yard is a death trap for the roach (and the crickets). right now the smart one nee chi is up 3-1.
it is very cute watching them catch bugs. the go out and get the roach. then they carry it back in their mouth back to me. sometimes their wisker pads stick out from the roach and they are looking for a place where there is light to drop it and play with it. that happens to be near me. two roaches so far have crawled into my shorts. cosmo fumbled a roach. it ended up being a turnover. nee chi recovered the fumble and consequently ate it.
it is still 3-1.
the kittens have been here for about a week now. sunday night we went to a party. parties now-a-days consist of sitting around eating and chatting.
wow. did u know that crickets fly? one just flew into me. yes, it is a cricket - not a locust. nee chi cought it and ate it.
4-1 nee chi. darn.
soo… we leave the party at 11pm, get back home at 12am. at 330am we get the phone call that the kittens have been loaded onto the cargo plane. being all excited and being aware of the 3 1/2 hour trip ahead of us to ontario california (right outside of los angeles) we headed on out! at 430 we were ready to leave. we got in my truck. two minutes later the low pressure light came on. a tire has low pressure. thinking it was a leak, i did not want to drive to ontario. we took tara’s truck instead. tara drove to the cargo center at ontario international airport. we were five hours early. we have not slept. we are delirious. i deside to go to denny’s to eat. since it was a sunday morning, everyone else had the same idea. i drove tara’s truck to the very tight and packed parking lot of denny’s. i have never driven her truck before.
so, here is what we have: i did not drive the truck before. i have not slept in many hours. i have not had caffine.
i drove the truck into a guard cement pillar. it cost me $487 to drive to denny’s.
5-1 nee chi.
the cats arrived in the same cage. they were very calm yet alert. may be it is because they had each other. the white kitty cosmo is very pretty. much more than i would have though. it is show quality cat. nee chi is not because of a white patch under his chin on the neck. nee chi is black.
