My hair was cut today. Well, all of them. I had to specifically ask for that — seriously. This was my first hair style cut in over six years. During that time I have been shaving my head. Now I will look like a scene boy – with grey hair.
That’s nice. Anyway… I will be filling my taxes for the first time since ninety-eight. I think I will owe about thirty-grand due to interest. That’s nice.
Time to change my site appearance since everyday is exactly the same has been released. Did you pick up your copy? Don’t blame you if you didn’t. there is not much content on that single. Looks like Reznor is saving the b-sides for his new album.
Speaking of Reznor, there have been numerous hints from the nine inch nails camp that they will be touring with guns ‘n roses in the near future. If so it will be a huge economic popularity boost for nin with the trendy youngsters. Keep your eyes open for that possibility.
Last week Tara and I experience back to back nin shows here in vegas and cabazon. (I bought my first concert shirt at the vegas show!) Though the Aladdin theater in vegas has outstanding acoustics, their security was overbearing. Each section, i.e. 101, 102, etc. was quarantined. One could leave sections but could not gain access to a section unless it is was the assigned area printed on the ticket. Oh, I almost forgot! This is the second concert I have seen in vegas and I really don’t care to see another one here again. Like the last show in vegas there were about thirty percent tourists. I swear to you – tourists. And that really brings the energy level down in the crowd. I felt like I was at a sporting event. And these tourists get good seats! I have no idea how. There were tourists in GA standing around looking up holding draft beer. I don’t know. These vegas shows are really mixed. Though the sound quality was the best of any concert I have ever been to overall it didn’t hold a match to Cabazon.
After spending sometime at Laguna Beach, Dana Point and San Clemente (the Ocean Cities, you know.. where I saw tidel pools, crabs and a seal.. oh and where I got my fucking tick who head is STILL stuck in my chest after seven days) we headed to Cabazon and arrived at dusk. The security there was lax but ignorant. While standing first in the standard line (the premium line had people there from at least three in the morning. I didn’t bother asking the people who “stood” in front of them when they got in line) I saw guests refused entrance because they didn’t have a ticket! That’s right, guest of the band! Security didn’t know wtf they were doing. So, it took me a while to realize that I belong in the vip section. After Saul Williams performed (which was boring) Tara and I got approval to enter the vip section. Lots of space.. direct view of the stage.. our own bar… and most importantly EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE ENTIRE BUILDING (who had a ticket
WAS A DEDICATED FAN!
CABAZON ROCKED. Because of the amazing crowd that ranks as one of the top five concerts I have ever attended. ‘nuff said.
Aside: the footage of the desert during “every day is exactly the same” might have been captured from Death Valley.
Aside 2: at lot of people at the vegas concert booed when the president was shown in the movie aired for “Right Where It Belongs.” Tourists.. told you.
