Bored one night I found the following interesting Vegas quotes. Well, rather it was one night drinking tequila when I didn’t feel like working. This “shit job” I wrote about last month has turned out to be a real money maker. And money equals pleasure. Money triggers the reward/pleasure area of my brain. It has not given me a sense of purpose though. Purpose comes from within. Sometimes it comes from the testicles as well.
Most people choose a career then go to school for it. After, they settle down and start a family. They continue with their lives in the said career caring for their young. Then they retire, perhaps travel a bit while living out their end times watching TV, possibly.
I do that subscribe to that channel.
If there is something I want to do, I sit down, work hard to raise the cash to do whatever it is I want.
Recently I learned why I am not rich. There is no reason for me to be wealthy. I work when I need something. Otherwise, I earn enough to pay the bills. That is why it is important to make long-term goals. It creates a sense of purpose. My only goals are to stay in San Francisco for a week in December and then in the spring to spend five days in La Paz at the tip of Baja California, Mexico. I wish to drive there, heh ;)
One thing that has interested me is doing volunteer work in Mexico. For example, going on right now is a one week project to comb the beaches at night for baby sea turtles and releasing them into the ocean. During the day volunteers sleep in huts on the beach. Food is provided. Sounds fun :) Another project is at a mountain village in central Mexico below the forests where the Monarch Butterflies winter teaching the villages how to make money off tourists by designing mugs and shirts with butterflies on them.
I had such a great time in the Dominican Republic fixing roofs and building walls that I would love to do it again. Why am I not? Well, Tara says she would not want me gone for 2 weeks.
I really need to find something to do with myself, don’t I?
I have been experiencing an intense need to give to this world and I don’t know why. Maybe that is just a condition of existence — to give and receive. It makes the world go ’round. The reason I say it’s an issue with existing is because it seems EVERYONE has the need to give. Whether a punch, a gift, or tortured lyrics and clothes, everyone seems to have the need to EXPRESS THEMSELVES.

One day I will put up the gazillion photo’s I have taken.

Vegas is everything that’s right with America. You can do whatever you want, 24 hours a day. They’ve effectively legalized everything there. Drew Carey
Las Vegas is Everyman’s cut-rate Babylon. Not far away there is, or was, a roadside lunch counter and over it a sign proclaiming in three words that a Roman emperor’s orgy is now a democratic institution. “Topless Pizza Lunch.” Alistair Cooke

They are preserving the sanctity of marriage, so that two gay men who’ve been together for twenty-five years can’t get married, but a guy can still get drunk in Vegas and marry a hooker at the Elvis chapel! The sanctity of marriage is saved! Lea DeLaria

On the way to Las Vegas, I keep a vial of poison in the car in case there’s a breakdown. I’d rather drink the poison than just sit there in all that nothing for a couple of hours. Paul Lynde

Presidents and presidential assassins are like Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. Even though one city is all about sin and the other is all about salvation, they are identical, one-dimensional company towns built up by the sheer will of true believers. Sarah Vowell

In Vegas, I got into a long argument with the man at the roulette wheel over what I considered to be an odd number. Steven Wright
