entry116

Next weekend will be quite exciting! Tara and I will be driving out to SoCal for something – I am not sure what yet. Perhaps we will either go whale watching, visit the grasslands north of LA in search of the San Andreas Fault line, or visit Bombay Beach at the southern end of the Salton Sea for good photographic material at to witness the mud volcanos. Afterwards, if we do any of that at all, will be the main event: nine inch nails at the key club morongo in Cabazon California. Very exciting. You see, this club holds less people than the hard rock in vegas in which I attending the nine inch nails show last year. The hard rock holds 1500. the Key Club holds 900. And I acquired four tickets. Two of which are VIP access  The other two just recently sold on eBay for about 3x what I paid. You see, not only did this show sell out quickly, but it is not advertised at ticketmaster or on the nin.com website. Just wait. It gets better. Not only does the general public not have access to buy tickets to this show when they went on sale, but they cannot gain access to this show even if they have tickets. When getting into the show the ticket holders name must appear on a list. I am on that list. I am able to bring one guest… And I have VIP access.
That night we will be staying in Palm Springs or nearby. The following day we have to head back to Vegas to attending another nine inch nails show. The show in Vegas will be an arena show, unlike the Key Club. It will be vastly larger in occupancy. My seats are located next to the isle a few rows from the stage on the left side. Ear plugs are required! Thankfully I will not have to stand in line with all the other attendees. Tara and I will be able to skip ahead of the line and get access through a special door hours before the show hopefully to see the warm-ups and meet and greet the band. 
After all these years I really don’t know why I have to attend these concerts. I know that if I didn’t I would feel left out and lonely. The feeling.. the urge to attend is deep rooted and the motive a mystery to me.
Nine inch nails will not be touring north American for “a while” according to Reznor, so I am gonna catch him perform one last time with Bauhaus and Peaches in northern California during July.

Congrats, back in the day we both would have killed for tickets like that. Let me know how it turns out…
