My hair was cut today. Well, all of them. I had to specifically ask for that — seriously. This was my first hair style cut in over six years. During that time I have been shaving my head. Now I will look like a scene boy – with grey hair.
That’s nice. Anyway… I will be filling my taxes for the first time since ninety-eight. I think I will owe about thirty-grand due to interest. That’s nice.
Time to change my site appearance since everyday is exactly the same has been released. Did you pick up your copy? Don’t blame you if you didn’t. there is not much content on that single. Looks like Reznor is saving the b-sides for his new album.
Speaking of Reznor, there have been numerous hints from the nine inch nails camp that they will be touring with guns ‘n roses in the near future. If so it will be a huge economic popularity boost for nin with the trendy youngsters. Keep your eyes open for that possibility.
Last week Tara and I experience back to back nin shows here in vegas and cabazon. (I bought my first concert shirt at the vegas show!) Though the Aladdin theater in vegas has outstanding acoustics, their security was overbearing. Each section, i.e. 101, 102, etc. was quarantined. One could leave sections but could not gain access to a section unless it is was the assigned area printed on the ticket. Oh, I almost forgot! This is the second concert I have seen in vegas and I really don’t care to see another one here again. Like the last show in vegas there were about thirty percent tourists. I swear to you – tourists. And that really brings the energy level down in the crowd. I felt like I was at a sporting event. And these tourists get good seats! I have no idea how. There were tourists in GA standing around looking up holding draft beer. I don’t know. These vegas shows are really mixed. Though the sound quality was the best of any concert I have ever been to overall it didn’t hold a match to Cabazon.
After spending sometime at Laguna Beach, Dana Point and San Clemente (the Ocean Cities, you know.. where I saw tidel pools, crabs and a seal.. oh and where I got my fucking tick who head is STILL stuck in my chest after seven days) we headed to Cabazon and arrived at dusk. The security there was lax but ignorant. While standing first in the standard line (the premium line had people there from at least three in the morning. I didn’t bother asking the people who “stood” in front of them when they got in line) I saw guests refused entrance because they didn’t have a ticket! That’s right, guest of the band! Security didn’t know wtf they were doing. So, it took me a while to realize that I belong in the vip section. After Saul Williams performed (which was boring) Tara and I got approval to enter the vip section. Lots of space.. direct view of the stage.. our own bar… and most importantly EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE ENTIRE BUILDING (who had a ticket ;) WAS A DEDICATED FAN!

CABAZON ROCKED. Because of the amazing crowd that ranks as one of the top five concerts I have ever attended. ‘nuff said.

Aside: the footage of the desert during “every day is exactly the same” might have been captured from Death Valley.
Aside 2: at lot of people at the vegas concert booed when the president was shown in the movie aired for “Right Where It Belongs.” Tourists.. told you.

yes he is. i prefer his spoken word songs (d/l from his site) over the techno/rap and daft punk covers done at the two shows.
when rappen and beats flyin i can’t hear what is is sayin

    - the Rochester crowd cheered/laughed in a “god we can’t stand him” tone. It was pretty funny. Aparently the reaction Trent was going for given his views on that guy. Our spiral seat blew. Everyone in our spiral section was pissed. We had a direct view of the speakers. AWESOME, not! We moved to empty seats right after Saul, to a section with a great view. Who ever seats we took never showed. Thankfuly!
It was good times. Trent talked ALOT for Trent during a show, telling a story about how he ran into an old friend from the Downward Spiral days backstage and talked about their where they were now in their lives, and proceeded to thank everyone for sticking around while he “got his shit straighted out”. Everyone clapped and cheered and he thanked everyone what seemed to be a million times.

My cousins who now lives in vegas actaully bought her tickets on e-bay from a person who was going to be a tourist. You know- visit vegas and go to a nails show, but this person didn’t end up going. Funny! That must be the intent of a lot of people. My cousin called me a million times during the hours of 2:15 and 3am our time leaving messages on my machine saying “I’m at the concert, this is awesome” or “Listen” playing the concert on my machine. 9 messages!! and I couldn’t hardly hear anything besides muffled music-I told her that if i was there i would have punched her for being the asshole who calls people during concerts. Don’t people go to show to enjoy themselves and the music anymore? In Rochester, the girl in front of us at the show was texting people the whole time and tons of people were holding up cellphones…Assholes!

Is it just me or is jeordie not as playful/intense on-stage as he was in the manson days? I was a little disappointed since he was always so much fun to watch.

  4. Joe Says:

ya, jeordie doesn’t do much. maybe because he’s sober?? he has a lot of stage experience. perhaps he does not want to detract attention from trent. or maybe he is bored. he is alive, i know that! he did some interesting things like rub the bass strings against the mic stand and get ppl to clap.
Tara and I had excellent seats. furthermore, during the 1st half of the show i was standing behind the small group of 30 ppl in GA up front. only the security were in front of me, then some heads of GA, but that ended up ruining the vibe — security walking back and forth, standing right near me. i ended up going back to my seat in 101 row g to be among the crowd.
for cabazon a girl next to me keep messaging a guy regarding sexual activities that will be preformed between them after the show. she was having a good time though and just like nearly everyone else at that show she helped create a 5-star concert atmosphere!
trent just said “thank you” and talked about his shitty cracking voice during vegas.
for cabazon he talked a lot! i couldn’t hear half of what he was saying though cause the sound was that great, but he said something about doing another spiral show in philly or nyc i think. so keep ur eyes open for that!
he also went into the crowd during piggy a la “down in it” woodstock 94, however, he stayed much longer because he let a fan sing instead ;) this happened a few more times during that show. in addition to piggy, reptile and dead souls were played too.. if u care.
i do care that “even deeper” was played during vegas. i like that song. an interested point was that trent omitted lyrics at the end of “even deeper”. he didn’t say the “i’m on my way and i can’t turn back/gone to far and i can’t come back/lost my way and i can’t come back” lines

apparently he no longer feels that way :)

the visuals for “the line begins to blur” was cool huh? thats got to be my favorite song and thats the shirt i bought. it’s got that red lcd prop on the front. yay!
