what is that elusive understanding, that simple thought when known makes everything clear as day?
a person will not grow until they take responsibility for their actions.
We choose our joys and sorrows long before we experience them.
Kahlil Gibran
happiness should not be sought after in someone else, but in our own heart. happiness is something that springs from within and is shared between two people who are connected. it is not found externally from our heart. rather than longing for someone to spend eternity with playing scrabble on a balcony, first feel comfortable playing scrabble on a balcony with yourself for eternity. for how can one bare their own soul when it is not known what their own soul is to bare? once we find ourselves everything else becomes known — including the future. what i mean is the path of life becomes realized when we understand who we are and why we made the choices that we did.
Knowledge of the self is the mother of all knowledge. So it is incumbent
on me to know my self, to know it completely, to know its minutiae, its
characteristics, its subtleties, and its very atoms.
Kahlil Gibran
what good is jumping into the pool if you cannot swim? but on the other hand, one cannot reach second base without jumping from first. intellectually, life equals risk. but, if we trust our hearts and know ourselves, then life does not equal risk, but rather a beautiful flower whose unfolding is the perfect path for OUR life.
